The process

How adoption works

  1. Browse our animals

    Find a pet who catches your eye on our Petfinder page, or reach out and tell us what you're looking for.

  2. Submit an application

    Email us at blackcatsolddogs@blackcatsolddogs.org or message us on Facebook to start an adoption application.

  3. Meet your match

    We'll arrange a meet-and-greet with the pet and their foster family so you can be sure it's the right fit for everyone.

  4. Welcome them home

    Once approved, you'll finalize the adoption. Your new pet comes spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ready to love.

About adoption fees. Our adoption fees help cover the spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and other veterinary care each animal receives before going home. They never cover our full costs — donations make up the rest.
