Become a Foster

Fostering is the heart of our rescue — and the single most powerful way to save a life.

Why it matters

Every foster home opens a door

Because we have no shelter building, every animal we save needs a foster home to go to. When you foster, you don't just give one pet a safe place to land — you make room for us to rescue the next one waiting at the shelter.

Fosters give an animal time to decompress, heal, and show their true personality, which helps us match them with the perfect adopter. Whether it's a few days or a few months, your spare room changes everything.

Good to know

Foster questions, answered

How long does fostering last?

It varies by animal — anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months, until the pet is adopted. We'll always be upfront about what a particular animal needs, and we work with your schedule.

Does it cost me anything?

No. We cover all veterinary expenses and can provide food and supplies. Your generosity of time and space is the only thing we ask for.

What if I have other pets?

Many of our fosters have resident pets! We'll help you introduce animals slowly and choose a foster pet whose temperament fits your household.

What if I fall in love and want to adopt?

It happens often — we lovingly call it a "foster fail," and it's one of the happiest outcomes there is. You'll have first dibs to adopt your foster pet.

Ready to open your home?

Tell us a little about yourself and we'll match you with an animal who needs you. Fostering takes a few minutes to start and creates a lifetime of impact.
